If I don't die by Thursday, I'll be roaring Friday night.
Some thoughts on Saddam’s capture:
If he talks, maybe we'll found out if there are any WMD after all. If we don't find any now, we'll know the main reason for going to war was fabricated.
Lot’s of pundits will say this gives George W. an edge in next year’s election. (I doubt it since the American public’s memory is soooo short.) It does bode well for the Iraq situation, and that’s a GOOD thing! The left-wing press will say, “Yeah, but what about Osama?” And the conservatives will reply that the media is just being negative.
I do wonder why the guy apparently went down without a fight. I never thought he’d let himself get captured alive.
Who’s going to collect the $25 million dollar reward money? We’ll probably never know but I bet the guy’s going to be living somewhere else from now on (I’d wager it wasn’t a relative but a house servant, bodyguard or some such.)
This is going to knock a couple of other interesting stories off the front page – namely Halliburton’s war-time profiteering and the illegitimate mixed-race daughter of former U.S. senator James Strom Thurmond (R-S.C.)
If nothing else, it makes for a news-worthy Sunday and a reason to channel surf cable news.
