"What the caterpillar calls the end of life, wise men call a butterfly."
I gotta stop reading the news
and get the kids out of bed, but I just can't resist pointing out one more story!
The Washington Post has an $11 billion toilet seat story, and it's called Stryker! How in the world can the Pentagon spend $11 billion on a new troop transport vehicle? Couldn't we just change the tires on the old ones? $11 BILLION!! And the stupid truck doesn't work!
But, that's not what Gen. Peter J. Schoomaker, the Army chief of staff, is telling the House Armed Services Committee; he says, "we're absolutely enthusiastic about what the Stryker has done." Of course, the people actually driving the truck are saying it's a piece of sh*t and listing a catalogue of complaints about it, including design flaws, inoperable gear and maintenance problems that are "getting worse not better."
$11 billion for a broken truck?! Doesn't the US have a 'lemon law'?
