Remember when you first installed Linux? It might have been on a 286 or 386 and you were lucky if you had 8 MBs of RAM. Maybe your hard drive had 500MBs of storage - and that was big!
I just took a bunch of old Pentium II/Dell parts and made a Linux box for the fun of it and installed Knoppix 3.7 on it. The damn thing is 2.19 GBs for a basic install and is sucking up 98 MBs of RAM right out of the box, and I haven't even installed anything I want yet! Sheesh!
