garage sale finds
Yesterday, my mother-in-law and I did the usual run about town looking for garage and moving sales. You never know what you'll find; it's like a weekly treasure hunt. Anyway, yesterday was a real dud! We found nothing but junk and didn't buy anything.
This morning I was making hummus (if anyone wants my secret recipe, you have but to ask...) and of course I didn't have enough of one of the ingredients - lemon juice, so I hopped into the car and headed to the grocery store. On the way there I saw a sign for a lawn sale. Hmmmm, on a Sunday? I thought. I decided to stop by after shopping, and I did.
The first thing I found was a glass chess set. I unpacked it and checked each piece - not a scratch. I tucked the box under my arm and continued looking and found a 4 CD-rom set of teacher's tools that included Paint Shop Pro, an image CD, a library CD with over 1750 historical, classical and cultural titles and 'Teacher's Toolbox 4.0' (not sure what that is yet...) The hunt continued...
Then I found this trackball mouse. 6 instant launch buttons, a big trackball and 4 mouse buttons! I had to download new drivers from the manufacturer's web site, and the mouse works fine! (It looked like the box had never even been opened.)
The grand total for my purchases was $8.00.
The chess box has a suggested retail price of $39.99. I have no idea how much the CD set would retail for, and the mouse? $109.99!
Hah!
