"What the caterpillar calls the end of life, wise men call a butterfly."
Do you get paid overtime?
Maybe not for much longer if Bush and his corporate cronies get their way:
What is the Shrub administration planning to do to assist the millions of workers who will start losing overtime pay next week? Many American workers are going to lose overtime compensation under the Bush administration's new labor regulations. How many? One study by the Economic Policy Institute shows that under the new rules published by the Department of Labor, millions of American workers will no longer get overtime pay. At risk are "nearly 2 million administrative workers who can be classified as team leaders would lose overtime protection. An additional 920,000 workers who can be reclassified as learned professionals, even though they do not have college degrees, would be similarly affected. It also said 1.4 million workers could lose overtime protection by being reclassified as executives, as could an estimated 130,000 chefs and cooks, 160,000 financial service workers and 117,000 teachers and computer programmers."
Let me recap this situation for you. Millions of Americans have lost their job or had to take lower paying jobs under Bush. Millions more Americans are going to lose their overtime pay. And the top 1% of America's wealthy are going to reap millions in additional tax cuts and benefits from Bush's policies.
Why aren't millions protesting in the streets?!
