If I don't die by Thursday, I'll be roaring Friday night.
I may take a break from updating this blog - at least for a while. But before I go, I'd like to leave with this thought:
I guess it's not a good time for remarks about hypocrisy either in our personal or public lives as our government and media give us a daily dose of the affectation of having virtues and principles. It's not a time for smart-assed remarks about how Rush Limbaugh's hypocrisy has made a mockery of much of his rhetoric, or how he's been drug-addled for years and that's why his views make no sense (at least to liberals).
There are more probing questions we should be asking than why we feel lied to at every turn! If an arguably intelligent man with a strict and demanding sense of morality can fall prey to drug addiction, what of the rest of us? Are we stronger? Smarter? More moral? Less likely to become addicted to something? Or, perhaps, just more fortunate? And what does this suggest our public policies should be? Should drug addicts be thrown in jail? Do we simply enjoy the intellectual sloth of our media opiate?
Only you can decide for yourself. Only you can choose apathy or action.
